The facts were these: Olive Snook was not over The Piemaker. But Olive, being a resilent young woman, was attempting to convince herself that she was.

Therefore, she had thrown herself whole-heartedly into exploring her new town. This particular morning found her in the park, enjoying the flowers.

Meg was starving when she woke up and soon after putting herself together, set off for some waffles at the waffle house. Maybe it would be packed and she'd enjoy conversation with someone.

It was really hot and Jo didn't feel much like being cooped up in her apartment all day. So she put on shorts and a tank top and grabbed a towel and headed down to the lake. One of these days she was going to have to invest in a bathing suit. But today she was content enough to lay back and fall asleep in the sun.
